SPOKANE, Wash. -

Adron Tennell is back for a third season with the Spokane Shock, and he hopes the third time is a charm. He wants a championship, but even beyond that he wants to be the best receiver in all of the AFL.

Tennell recently sat down with SWX's Michelle Dapper. Here are some of the highlights of the interview. (*Mobile users can views the interview here: http://bit.ly/14yDrlm )

Q: Four days into camp, what's the excitement about?

A: "We're just ready to get out there and show what we can do. We're talented on both sides of the ball and we're just ready to get my third year going with the guys."

Q: Erik Meyer is back and he hasn't had a full season with the Shock yet. What is he looking like right now?

A: "Actually, he's looking great. He hasn't cramped up or anything. I guess he's drinking his water and taking his vitamins! He's out there looking really good. I'm excited to get to play with him and get a full season with him. He's going to showcase his talent and my talent and the rest of the guys around him."

Q: Erik Meyer, when healthy, how good is he?

A: "He's the best in the league. He can be No. 1. He can make me better and make the guys around him better. He won, like, the Heisman in his division, so I‘m excited to play with him."

Q: For you, last season was a record-setting season. How do you top that?

A: "I know I broke some records for the Shock but I want to be No. 1 in the league, so I'm going to come out, work hard and do everything extra – in and out of practice – so I can be top of the AFL, not just for the Spokane Shock but for the whole AFL."

Q: The Shock didn't make the playoffs last year for the first time in franchise history. Is that what the goal is this year – playoffs? Or a championship?

A: "Our goal is to win a championship. We didn't want to be that team last year to not make the playoffs. I hate that we were so close to get there. It hurt…. Our goal right now is to win a championship."
