SPOKANE, Wash. -
For a half it looked like Shoreline Christian had the game in the bag. And then Wilbur-Creston came to play.
Wilbur-Creston did not score a single field goal in the first quarter. Meanwhile, Shoreline's Sarah Ott, just a sophomore, took command of the court. But not even her 27 points was enough to seal the deal for the Crusaders.
Wilbur-Creston simply refused to give up. They kept shooting and took their first lead of the game with 1:29 left in the fourth quarter. After fighting off a surge in the closing seconds, they pulled out a miracle, winning 55-52 to advance to Friday's semifinal round.
The Wildcats will play the 5:30 p.m. game against either Tahola or Colton.
