Tri-City Americans Visit Cancer Center prepare for Breast Cancer Awareness Night

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. - The Tri-City Americans Captain, along with the other guys who wear letters on their sweaters, toured the Tri-Cities Cancer Center today. Cancer center staff showed the boys just how the money raised at this Friday's Breast Cancer Awareness Night will be spent. This is the first year Ams players have visited the cancer center prior to the game, and they know how important the cause is.

"Oh it's awesome, seeing the center here today really puts it into perspective how important donations are to well deserved causes like this. Obviously cancer is never a good thing so people should try to help out the best they can," said Connor Rankin, Americans Forward.

"Yes I do, my grandpa passed away a few summers ago from it so it's an important cause for me especially, and it's an extra incentive to play for on Friday night," said Mitch Topping, Americans defenseman, when asked if he had a family member affected by cancer.
