SPOKANE, Wash. –  (Jan. 21, 2013 – www.GoZags.com) Gonzaga University women's basketball junior Haiden Palmer was named West Coast Conference Player of the Week Monday.

The Bulldogs, playing three league games in six days, was led to a 3-0 week by Palmer. The guard averaged 15.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.7 steals per game, while shooting 42.2 percent (19-of-45) from the field.

Palmer began the week scoring 13 points – 11 coming in the first half – in the Bulldogs 82-51 win at the University of Portland. She also grabbed five rebounds, passed out four assists and made three steals in 24 minutes of play.

She was then crucial in GU's 74-59 win over BYU; the Cougars first in conference. She tallied 11 points, had three rebounds, three assists and two steals in the home win.

Palmer saved her best game for last; scoring a game-high 22 points in the Zags 62-50 win at the University of San Diego. She scored eight of the team's last 12 points to have hold off any Torero comeback. She added a game-high six steals, along with four rebounds and two assists.
