Toronoto Raptors foward Amir Johnson was suspended one game by the NBA Wednesday after his incident with an official on Monday.

Johnson tried to wrestle the ball away from referee David Jones and got ejected for it. And then he flung his mouthguard in the official's direction after getting the boot.

He missed Wednesday's game against Brooklyn but will be back on the court Friday against the Mavericks.

Earlier story:

Filed under "bizarre", did you see what happened last night in the game between the Toronto Raptors and the Portland Trail Blazers? Toronto's Amir Johnson was ejected from the game after playing tug of war with an official.

The official tried to take the ball from Johnson after a Portland free throw. Johnson wouldn't let go, and neither would the official. The official started to walk away to report a technical foul to the scores table, it appeared Johnson said something, and the official tossed Johnson from the game. That is when Johnson threw his mouthguard in the official's direction.

Disgraceful.

Johnson said after the game "the ref didn't let me have the ball so we kind of got into a tug of war." He said he was upset he didn't get an explanation for being tossed out of the game.

As if one were needed.

For the record, he apologized, saying the incident was "childish" on his part and it "didn't need to happen."
