SPOKANE, Wash. -

This is Gonzaga's year. The Zags, at 8-0, have tied their best start in school history and they say they've only just begun.

Gonzaga is also back in the Top 10 on both the AP and USA Today polls for the first time in four years. They got there by jumping two spots after downing Lewis-Clark State and Pacific last week.

While Gonzaga's start this year is the best since 1994, when they also went 8-0, players say they are not focused on their record or ranking, rather their next opponent. One game at a time.

"It's nice that we're getting recognized but – I don't even know where we're ranked to, to be honest – we don't want to just be ranked. We want to be up at the top at the end of the year and not lose a single game," said guard Kevin Pangos.

"We should play with great confidence – I think everybody does," said senior Elias Harris. "We're looking good right now and we have a lot of fun out there and I think everybody can see that."

Gonzaga travels to Washington State on Wednesday. The last time the two teams played in Pullman was two years ago, and Gonzaga lost 81-59.
