Americans happy to end road trip on strong note

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The Tri-City Americans made the best of a bad situation over the weekend. After losing to Kamloops and Kelowna by one goal each, the Ams made an impressive comeback against Vancouver. Tri-City scored twice in the last two minutes of the game to pull out the victory. The Americans talk about what the comeback win does for the team.

"The short handed goal we're thinking to ourselves, okay we have to get through this penalty kill and get it to overtime and then to score while we were short handed with so little time on the clock. A great confidence booster for Beau obviously, it was really really important for our guys going into this week," assistant coach Dan Price said.

"Moments like that are so exciting, it's kind of down, we got a penalty with like 35 seconds left, to go in a 3-3 tie. And Beau's scores short handed," forward Lucas Nickles added.
