CHENEY, Wash. -

Two years ago Eastern Washington got some lucky breaks to host the FCS playoffs all the way up to the national championship game in Frisco, Texas. This year, though, they do not need luck.

The Eagles are a No. 2 seed this time around, meaning they have home field advantage throughout the playoffs – as long as they keep winning and get into the title game.

Eastern Washington hosts Wagner on Saturday. Having the hometown fans in the stands at Roos Field could make all the difference.

"We love our fans," said junior defensive back Allen Brown. "As much as they do for us, we want to put on a show every week. It's probably the reason why we keep our games close. We want to keep our fans in the stands."

All kidding aside now.

"All year [the fans] have been very supportive," said quarterback Vernon Adams. "Even on away games we had way more fans than Portland State out there. It's very helpful when they're in the game and cheering for us. We do it for the fans and we do it for Cheney."

At last check on Wednesday tickets were still available for Saturday's game on The Inferno. Tickets range from $10 to $20 depending on location within the stadium.
