Americans prepare accordingly en route to their B.C. road trip

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The Tri-City Americans are trying to keep up with a very competitive Western Conference. The road does not get any easier with a B.C. division road trip starting Wednesday. Kelowna and Kamloops proved they are contenders so far.. The Ams hopped on the bus to start their trip in Kelowna. They talk about the different mindset getting ready for the road.

"You have to be aware, got to look at the travel. Then the 1st one's not bad because we play and travel through the night to play again. We're going to rest the big-minute guys, even though we played twice in a weekend, rest those guys into the week. We know how tough it'll be," head coach Jim Hiller said.

"The atmosphere is different every rink. Some younger guys might not have played in Kamloops or Vancouver yet. It's a challenge you have to go through. On the positive side we're going on a bus trip together. You bond that way. So we're excited," forward Mitch Topping added.
