Kennewick native making his mark at WSU

Posted: Updated:

PULLMAN, Wash. -- Former Kennewick Lion Bryce Leavitt saw his first minute of college play in Tuesday's Washington State University basketball game. He is a preferred walk-on freshman at WSU. Last year Leavitt was a Washington AP first-team selection. Also Leavitt was the CBBN 3A boys' player of the year. Leavitt appreciates his time at Kennewick.

"How good the athletes were on our team probably helped me playing against those guys every day in practice. Just the way that we played was really fast and aggressive. I think it's helped me have an aggressive mentality up here. That's where Kennewick helped me. Coach Leyde, Coach Brown and all the other coaches helped me a lot in my four years, teach me basketball and stuff. I think I made a pretty good transition so far. Just keep working hard and keep moving up in the ranks," Leavitt said.
