1A State Semi-Finals New Territory For River View

KENNEWICK, Wash. - After River View knocked off Quincy, 14-0 on Saturday, the Panthers advance to the 1-A state semi-final for the first time in school history. They play an undefeated Royal team that crushed the SCAC. River View plays 14 seniors, the same group back as middle schoolers had a one-touchdown season. Head coach Brett Jay says it's amazing to see the community support the group.

"Starts with the players and all of the hard work they put in. And it's nice to see them see it through and payoff. the community they support us year round and so it's nice to be able to give them some back, something to be proud of. As well as our staff and it's just nice to see it payoff," said Brett Jay, River View Head Coach.

"Alumni showed up from past years. How parents that don't even have kids playing, and they came to support us. It's just the whole community came to watch us play," added Ricardo Castillo, River View senior receiver.
