Walla Walla Pair Sign With Rival Schools

Posted: Updated:

WALLA WALLA, Wash.  -  A couple of Walla Walla friends will spend their college playing days with rival schools. Standout six foot two inch volleyball player Torri Crawford signed with the University of Idaho. And her long-time friend Libbie Jimenez inked with Boise State University. The two say the collegiate rivalry won't tear them apart.

"I don't think it'll play out to hard core. I think we'll still be friends and I was joking with her the other day that we'll probably meet half way when we're at college and spend some time together, I don't think it's too big of a deal," said Jimenez.

"We're rivals as in our schools are rivals, but we're not. I don't think it's going to be a big issue, my brother actually goes to Boise State. So it's definitely something I'll have to get used to," added Crawford.
