SPOKANE, Wash. -

All three Greater Spokane League teams that made the playoffs this year are still there. And all three have a good chance at extending their state runs this weekend.

Gonzaga Prep hosts Bellarmine Prep on Saturday in Spokane. Despite their remarkable year to this point, the Bullpups know every game from here on out is going to be a challenge.

"[Bellarmine Prep] is very big up front on both sides of the football – offense and defense," said Coach Dave McKenna. "They run well with the ball, and offensively, their quarterback is tremendous quarterback. [He is a] big kid who makes really good decisions. So, we have our hands full."

Saturday's game will be broadcast on SWX-TV and streamed on SWXRightNow.com. Viewers in Eastern Washington can watch the game on mobile devices through the Syncbak app.

Mead on the Road (Sat., Nov. 17 at 3 p.m.)

Mead hits the road this weekend for a playoff game against Auburn. The Panthers expect to be tested, but they shouldn't be surprised by many of the schemes they see.

"Offense and defense is the exact same, pretty much," explained running back Davian Barlow. "We got our offense and defense from them. On film, they look pretty good. We see some things that we like to point out – some things we can really take advantage of."

Coach Sean Carty said at this point in the season the team that wins the game will be the one that executes the gameplan the best.

"I think that, for the most part, it's going to be about execution," said Carty. "If we can execute like we did last week we're going to be tough to beat."

3A University Stays Home to Face North Thurston (Sat., Nov. 17 at 5 p.m.)

University lives on in the playoffs. And this week they get to stay home to host North Thurston.

The Titans anticipate the Rams to bring a similar game plan to the one brought by O'Dea last weekend. Given UHigh's success in that game – a 34-6 victory – they are not planning on changing things up too much.

"They're similar in terms of philosophy of O'Dea," said coach Rob Bartlett. "They're big and physical, and they're going to run downhill and run at you. They're going to be about 70 percent run and 30 percent pass."

Defensively, Bartlett said they plan on bringing the same plan they put in place for the O'Dea game.
