Tri-City Prep Athletes Ink National Letters of Intent

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Wednesday is national signing day for a couple of Division-I recruits from Southridge. After leading the suns to a state title last year, senior Nick Mandell will tee-off at WSU. Nicole Larkin will compete in gymnastics at the University of Alaska Anchorage. The two talked about what they look forward to at the collegent level.

"Definitely that they have a really good team and a really strong bond with their team. And I'm really excited to be a part of their team and contribute," said Nicole Larkin.

"People say Washington State may not be the best (golf) school, but it's all, it's Pac-12 and I'm going to be playing against all of the best players in the world. All of the best college athletes, for golf, usually stay in the Pac-12."

Connell's Ashley Thompson signed with BYU to a softball scholarship. Thompson helped lead Connell to back-to-back 1A softball titles. She also excels in the classroom with a 4. gpa. Thompson talks about her choice to BYU after de-committing to UW.

"I think it's a great fit for me as far as the values that they have there. I feel like I can relate very well there and I feel like it well be easier for me as far as that aspect of it. and I love the coaches the girls, everyone, just I feel like I mesh with them,"said Thompson. "A huge weights off my shoulders. I feel so blessed that, you know, I have this opportunity."
