Not only is Tuesday the day Americans choose a new president, but Washingtonians will select a new governor and the process begins to decide new state champions in girls soccer.

Between the 3A and 4A ranks, the Spokane region is well represented. Central Valley, the 4A Greater Spokane League champions, plays Tuesday at home against Auburn. And Mead plays Kentridge at University High in Spokane Valley.

Mt. Spokane, the undefeated 3A champions in the GSL play Tuesday at Spokane Falls Community College against Enumclaw in the first round of the playoffs.

Tri-Cities Teams Go to State

Kamiakin, the lone 3A team from the Tri-Cities region to go to the state tournament, begins its title run Tuesday against Mercer Island at Lampson Stadium.

In 4A, Moses Lake is matched up with Camas in the first round. The two teams play Wednesday at Lions Field, with the winner advancing to play either Mead or Kentridge.
