PULLMAN, Wash. Washington State University men's basketball senior Brock Motum has been named as one of 30 candidates for the 2012-13 Senior CLASS Award in collegiate men's basketball, Premier Sports Management announced Wednesday.

To be eligible for the award, which stands for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – community, classroom, character and competition.

A 6-foot-10 forward, Motum led the Pac-12 in scoring last season as a junior with 18.0 points per game. He led the team in scoring 20 times in 2011-12 and added 6.4 rebounds per game. The Brisbane, Australia-native shot .554 from the field, good for sixth in the conference and 26th in the nation. Motum is on-track to graduate with a degree in psychology in May.

Motum is the only Pac-12 men's basketball student-athlete to be named a candidate for the award.  The Cougars will host Saint Martin's in exhibition action, Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. at Beasley Coliseum before opening the season at home Saturday, Nov. 10 against Eastern Washington at 4:30 p.m.
