Pasco Soccer Finds Identity and Success Late in Season

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. - In the Mid-Columbia Conference 4A he Pasco Bulldogs are still playing despite a losing regular seas record. The 7-10 Bulldogs beat Walla Walla to start the district playoffs, then upset Chiawana to get here; one game away from the state tournament. Head coach Justin Carey says this years team has improved immensely since giving up 70 goals just two years ago. Carey says their success came when the team found their identity.

"And to find our identity and stick with it instead of trying to be a team that we're just not built to be. We were built to be a good defensive minded and possession oriented team. It took us a while to figure it out and really nice to have a great record coming in," said Carey.  "And we put ourselves in a difficult position having to play so many games, and I think that showed Saturday night. But I'd rather win at the end than at the beginning. I'd rather win in late October than win in September."
