NHL Cancels More Games As Labor Dispute Continues

Updated:

The NHL on Friday began canceling regular season games, as the labor dispute between the league and the players union drags on.

The league made the call Friday to cancel all games through Nov. 30, ruining any chance of a full hockey season. The cancellation totals up to 326 games, or nearly 27 percent of the season.

The NHL had already called off the entire preseason because of the lockout.

The last time the NHL was in a labor dispute was in 2004 when the previous collective bargaining agreement expired. The dispute cost the entire 2004-05 season - the first time a major North American professional sports league had missed an entire year of competition.
