HIGHLIGHT MOMENT: Watch Out, Gonzaga - Maybe

If you are one of the Gonzaga faithful there are two ways to look at the video from BYU's intrasquad scrimmage the other night. Okay, three.

First off, Josh Sharp's impressive, in-your-face dunk was impressive. It was the thing highlight reels are made of. So, you ask, what does this have to do with Gonzaga?

Here is the second way to look at it. Josh Sharp seemingly slides right by the oncoming defense, blows right past Brandon Davies (remember him?) and slams the ball in the face of a third defender who had come over to help. That, perhaps, shows that BYU's defense is ripe for the picking, and the Zags' talented perimeter players might have an easy lane to the bucket when conference play rolls around.

The third say to look at that video is this: maybe the Zags should be concerned about BYU's perimeter players. Well, in reality, the Cougars have only 11 scholarship players on the roster this season. Two of them, Stephen Rogers and Chris Collinsworth are now gone with injuries. Collinsworth has called it quits altogether. It could be a long year for BYU, especially if they lose another player to injury.

Well, maybe there are four ways to look at this. Maybe Sharp's dunk was simply because it was a scrimmage and not a real game. Yeah, I'm betting on that.

Either way, I revert to No. 1. That was pretty impressive.
