ELLENSBURG, Wash. -- Another weekly honor for a Central Washington football player. Senior running back Demetrius Sumler is the GNAC co-offensive player of the week. Last Saturday Sumler tied a school record with five rushing touchdowns against Simon Fraser. Head coach Blaine Bennett says the rushing success is a team effort.
"Well certainly Demetrius Sumler is having a great year. We knew going into the season we wanted to run the football. We have seven offensive linemen that we think are very good at this level. Five of them are seniors. We need to continue to dominate the line of scrimmage up front offensively. He's a big physical back, and we're able to get Jordan Todd, our true freshman running back, a lot of carries." Bennett said.
