Police Investigating Idaho St. Football Coach Mike Kramer

Updated:

Police in Pocatello are looking into whether coach Mike Kramer went too far in yelling at an Idaho State football player at practice this month.

Videotape showed online and on TV by various media outlets shows Kramer shoving receiver Derek Graves to the turf during practice. Graves hasn't been able to play since then because of injuries.

Police are looking into whether the shove constitutes a case of criminal assault.

Speaking on ESPN's Outside the Lines, Graves said the incident happened when he motioned for a more experienced defensive back to cover him during practice. That is when Kramer became irate, swore at him and shoved him with two hands.

Kramer, who graduated from Colton High School in Washington state, has coached at both Montana State and Eastern Washington in the past. He was fired from MSU in 2007 and was accused of slapping a player at EWU in 1995. He denied ever slapping the player.
