In game one of the double-header played at Joe Albi Stadium, North Central took on Shadle Park in a 3A matchup.

NC took the lead early as Jake Hoffman and Jimmy Wiegel hook up for a 34-yard touchdown in the first quarter. After adding a field goal, the Indians held a 9-0 lead.

From that point on, it was all Shadle Park as Cam Babcock and Alvin Welch would both rush for 2 touchdowns.

The Highlanders (3-4) scored the next 34 points while shutting out NC (1-6) for the remainder of the game and going on to win 34-9.

Shadle Park quarterback Brett Rypien closes in on the all-time single season passing record for the GSL. He has surpassed 2000 yards with 2207 and only trails Connor Halliday by 52 yards with 3 games still left on the schedule.

Lewis and Clark at Ferris

The late game at Albi featured two teams that are familiar with success in football. While LC has not faired as well this season, Ferris was hoping to remain tied with Mead for 2nd place.

It was a defensive struggle for most of the game as a short Kole Karstetter scamper would be the only score in the 1st half as Ferris would lead 7-0.

Not much changed in the 2nd half as Karstetter would be on the receiving end of a Christian Olson 14 yard touchdown pass for the final score of the game.

Ferris (6-1) shutout the Tigers (3-4) 17-0.

Mt. Spokane at University

University hosted Mt. Spokane Friday night in a game with major 3A playoff implications. The Titans entered the night in 2nd place for 3A, with Mt. Spokane trailing by a single game.

After falling down 14-0, the Wildcats answered with a Zach Stensland touchdown run to make it a game.

But it would not matter as U-High (3-4) would outgain Mt. Spokane (1-6) 419-215 with Jeff Beaty throwing for 4 touchdowns as University won 28-14.

Rogers at Gonzaga Prep

This matchup of two teams at opposite ends of the totem pole featured the two leading rushers in the league. Luke Rogers and Griffin Hare had both accumulated over 800 yards entering the 7th game of the season.

Both performed like the leading rushers in the GSL as Rogers ran for 194 yards and Hare 184, which gave both over a 1,000 rushing yards on the season. The only difference between the two was the outcome of the game.

Gonzaga Prep took a 30-0 lead into halftime and would go on to win 53-14 and remain in 1st place in the GSL.
