SPOKANE, Wash. -

It is not a question of whether Friday night's games at Joe Albi Stadium really matter when it comes to the playoffs. The two games – one at 5:30 and the other at 8 – are about pride.

Nevertheless, records matter when it comes to the postseason, making already emotional football games even more so.

Shadle Park and North Central, separated by less than three miles, play each other in the early game. The Indians will play for just their second league win of the season, while Shadle hopes one-up University for the top 3A playoff spot.

The late game at Joe Albi features South Hill rivals Lewis & Clark and Ferris. Ferris, with just one loss, needs a win to keep pace with Gonzaga Prep and Mead in the race for the GSL title. Lewis & Clark would simply like to rise above .500 – a worthy goal in and of itself.

Coverage of the evening's games begins on SWX at 5 p.m. with a pre-game show. Kickoff for the Shadle-NC game is 5:30. The Lewis & Clark-Ferris game will follow shortly after the conclusion of the early game – around 8 p.m.
