Eastern Washington has run the gauntlet in non-conference play this season, getting a split on the Palouse with a win at Idaho and a close loss at Washington State.

But perhaps the Eagles' next opponent had it even worse.

Beau Baldwin and his boys head south this weekend to play Weber State in both teams' first conference game of the season. Much like Eastern the Wildcats faced a difficult non-conference slate. The Eagles are well aware of that.

"It's all about Weber, it really is, but once you get in that conference you're going to have a battle every week and our first one is no different," said Baldwin. "It's going to be tough down there at Weber State. Their schedule and what they have had to go through is rough. I'm telling you, they've had one of the toughest schedules at our level in the country. I'd be hard-pressed to find a tougher one.

So who did Weber play this September? They started at Fresno State, losing that game 37-10. Then they played BYU in Provo and got crushed 45-13. Last week they played at home against No. 19 McNeese State and lost 35-21. Playing Eastern Washington in Ogden is no cakewalk, but it will probably be a welcome relief compared to what they have had to experience in the first three weeks of the season.

Saturday's game starts at 5 p.m. (PT).
