Injuries hurting Americans ability to find rhythm

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Less than ten day until the Tri-City Americans open the regular season, hosting the Spokane Chiefs. Before that the Americans get two more preseason games to gel the right players together. Right now it is tough with guys such as Sam grist and Wil Tomchuk sidelined with early injuries. Head coach Jim Hiller said the process of finding who fits where is tough when short-handed.

"We built toward getting what our roster's going to look like opening weekend, two weeks from now. We've got one weekend left to fine-tune that. I think hopefully we get a chance to see a few more bodies and see what our team might look like. That's been the frustrating part for me. We haven't been able to get everybody in there. So hopefully by the weekend, we're back healthy again," Hiller said.
