PULLMAN, Wash. -

Will Jeff Tuel play Friday against UNLV, or will Connor Halliday get the start? Good question. Mike Leach won't say.

Tuel returned to the practice field on Tuesday for the first time since leaving Saturday's game with an apparent injury. He was taken out of the second half and could be seen icing his right knee.

Connor Halliday has been taking most of the first team snaps this week at practice. Coach Leach still is not showing any cards yet in terms of who will play in Las Vegas. His discussion with the media on Tuesday was classic Mike Leach.

"[He is] full strength, he looked tremendous to me," said Leach.

"Is he your starter," asked a reporter.

"Well, shoot, it wouldn't be exciting if you already knew the results of everything now, would it? Hang on to your seat and make sure you tune in," he said.

He looked away to ask someone what time the game started on Friday, and in classic Mike Leach style delivered a thoughtful zinger.

"You're going to want to be there…. You're going to want to be there at abut 5:58 so you're on top of that."

A good coach never shows his hand, even if he is holding a straight flush in Las Vegas. Right?
