Lions steadily improving as they prepare for Southridge

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- So far in 2012 Kennewick football looks as strong as ever. After a week one tie against Lake City, last week the Lions beat Chiawana for their first win. The Lions beat the Riverhawks on the road 23-7. Kennewick is getting it done on the ground, with running backs Bodie Simpson and Devven Ramos. Junior quarterback Dylan Tennacour has also been steady under center. The Lions say they are definitely improving as they get set to play Southridge this Friday on SWX.

"I'm excited about the effort our kids have been demonstrating. Like other teams this time of year we still make logistical mistakes and technique things and schematically we might get in the wrong coverage or wrong formation. So we're learning those things, but the effort has been very good," said Bill Templeton, Kennewick head coach.

"We're getting better. We're progressively getting better every week. We haven't played to our full potential yet, and I feel that we're getting close," said Dylan Tennacour, junior quarterback.
