Idaho improved between Week 1 and Week 2 – that much was evident. But a loss to Bowling Green is a loss no matter how you cut it.

Quarterback Dominique Blackman, who sat out the season opener against Eastern Washington, played for the first time in the losing 21-13 effort. He went 30-of-37 for 352 yards and one touchdown, but was also intercepted once and sacked four times.

"We fought hard and we played hard," said coach Robb Akey in a news released issued by the school Saturday night after the loss in Ohio. "We need to fight and play hard to win."

The Vandals defense had three sacks, four breakups and three quarterback hurries. But they couldn't stop Bowling Green's quarterback from making big plays.

The Vandals now go from the frying pan into the flaming hot fire. They play at No. 3 LSU on Saturday.
