Year three is usually the make or break year for a head coach in the NFL. Seattle coach Pete Carroll is in his third year, so starting the season with a loss to Arizona probably wasn't the best thing he cold have done to solidify his job.

Carroll decided rookie quarterback Russell Wilson would get the start. He and the rest of the offense started slowly in the first half, and didn't really get things going until the second have. That is when he found Sidney Rice for a touchdown – the first touchdown throw of Wilson's NFL career.

The ‘Hawks got a field goal in the fourth quarter to take the lead 16-13, only to see backup quarterback Kevin Kolb come in for an injured John Skelton and throw the winning strike.

"The whole team responded really well from halftime and put us in the lead," said Carroll in his postgame interview. "We had a chance to win the game. We needed to stop them o defense – we could have won it there. This is not just the last four plays. This is the whole group had to play in this thing, which they all understand right now."

"To put ourselves in that situation, the defense did a great job, special teams did a great job of helping us out there too, and we just fell short," said Wilson.

Seattle had a chance at the end of the game to throw a wining touchdown strike, but Wilson threw three straight incompletions.

The Seahawks play at home on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys (1-0) beat the defending champion New York Giants in Week 1.
