Eisenhower football returns key players at key positions

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Eisenhower football returns a lot of good skill players, headlined by quarterback Kolney Cassel. He is committed to Southern Methodist University. Ike knows that every league game counts that much more with the new format of the Big Nine. Last year the Cadets went 8-2, setting them up for a cross-over game--which they ended up losing. There is no such option this year.

"Well obviously we want to get to the playoffs, and in this new setup, that means you've got to be the first place team. There's no cross-over. There's no room for error. So that first game at Wenatchee will be a huge game because I think by far they're the league favorites," head coach Dan Eyman said.

"I'm not planning on being average. No, I'm planning on going all the way. I want to go to state. This is my senior year. It might be my last year playing football. So I want to make it worth it. That's my expectations. I want to go all the way," linebacker Jacob Martinez added.
