Americans happy to be back on the ice and in camp

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Saturday the Tri-City Americans main camp kicked off at the Toyota Center. After fitness testing on Friday, the players finally got on the ice Saturday for circuit training and power skating. This year's camp features 19 players from last year's Americans team. 21 players have at least one year of WHL experience. The guys say it feels great to be back and on the ice again.

"I think everybody is chomping at the bit ready to get on the ice again. Fitness testing yesterday, it's just good to see everybody and get back," forward Jordan Messier said.

"Well I hope, I'm hoping to get better as an individual and as a team. You know it's a big time for the team to start gelling and get more chemistry. So I'm hoping that we'll do a lot of team activities and also work hard on the ice and get better," forward Connor Rankin added.
