REARDAN, Wash. -

The feel of fall is in the air, as high school football teams across the region begin to wrap up their fall camps. Reardan wrapped up their two-a-days on Thursday.

This year's squad has some big holes to fill after losing 10 players to graduation. Just four seniors are on the roster this year. But this young team believes it is up to the challenge.

"I've been having to show the younger guys how it's done," said senior quarterback Nathan Sorci. "It's been different because last year… we had just a huge group of seniors and it's just been hard stepping up and filling those shoes."

The four seniors on this year's team are taking on a huge responsibility. And a huge workload.

"All four of them are starting both ways," said coach Eric Nikkola. "Every special team, they're on it – every single one. They may not leave the field. They may be out there the whole time. But when you're a senior at Reardan that's what we expect."

Reardan is one of the teams involved with the Emerald Football Classic in Cheney this year. The yearly event, normally held at CenturyLink Field in Seattle, was moved to Eastern Washington University because of a scheduling conflict. Reardan plays the first game of the day on Sept. 1 at 10 a.m. Their game against Tekoa-Oakesdale will be shown live on SWX, followed by Colville vs. Freeman; East Valley (Yak.) vs. Cheney; and Central Valley vs. Ferris.
