Three year comeback in the making for Southridge's Grant Lathim

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Southridge football is back, and it has a huge gap to fill at quarterback. There is no more Matt Mendenhall.

The Southridge Suns open the season against the Richland Bombers. They have until the 31st to solidify their leader at quarterback. Head coach Tony Reiboldt says senior Grant Lathim has the inside track to start. Lathim has not played ball in three years, recovering from a major knee injury, but Lathim say's he is ready to come back strong.

"It feels great I mean I love playing football and it's been a few years since I've been out here and I just love being out here and throwing the football around. It's great, it's amazing. I mean my ball at the beginning of the year wasn't the best ball, and I've just been working with Coach DeVere and just trying to get all the techniques down and I finally got the good ball going. So we'll see how it goes," Lathim said.
