Spokane, WA - A night after losing on a hit-by-pitch, the AquaSox weren't about to let the final game of their series against Spokane end in similar fashion. Everett third baseman Patrick Kivlehan hit a long two-run homer to center off Eric Brooks (2-3) in the first inning, staking the AquaSox to an early lead as they defeated the Indians 8-3 in front 3,662 fans at Avista Stadium.
Spokane got one of those runs back in the second inning on an RBI groundout from Christopher Garia, but Everett scored again in the third on a single from Taylor Ard. After the Indians cut the deficit to 3-2 on a Gabriel Roa base hit in the fourth, the AquaSox put the game out of reach for good with a towering three-run home run from Marcus Littlewood over The Black Book Depot in the fifth inning.
Southpaw Steve Ewing (3-1) notched the win for Everett with five innings of two-run ball, and relievers Ambioris Hidalgo and Oliver Garcia combined to hold the Indians to just one run over the game's final four frames.
The Indians managed to pile up 12 hits in the loss, but went just 3-for-11 with runners in scoring position and left 12 men on base. Royce Bolinger finished the game with three singles to extend his hitting streak to 16 games.
Jon Edwards and Shawn Blackwell each pitched two scoreless frames of relief for Spokane.
The Indians travel to Yakima for a three-game series against the Bears before returning to Avista Stadium on Sunday.
