POST FALLS, Idaho -

The Spokane Coaches Vs. Cancer organization is aiming high, working to reach the $1 million mark in fundraising this year. Anyone wanting to see the good the charity can do need look no further than Camp Goodtimes in Post Falls.

Coach Mark Few and the Gonzaga basketball team spent some time with kids at the camp on Tuesday. The camp has been operational since 1985 – encouraging kids who battling cancer, or who have cancer, to take the time to be kids.

Gonzaga's involvement with Camp Goodtimes is just one of the many examples of how college athletics is giving people a fighting chance.

"This is just a great situation where we can see what Coaches Vs. Cancer is," said Coach Few. "You can get your hands around it, you can feel it. This week is just a fabulous way of us trying to give back and help a little bit."

It is also a valuable experience for the athletes, giving them an opportunity to learn from the unique struggles cancer and sickness presents kids and their families.

"Seeing what the kid went through and seeing them having a good time here, and having us come out here and supporting them, I think that's an awesome opportunity for us to show us we care abut them, and I think they really deserve it," said senior Elias Harris.
