Anthony Larry, a starter at defensive end last season, is academically ineligible for the upcoming season, Eastern Washington University head coach Beau Baldwin said Tuesday.

The 6-foot-3, 240-pound Larry, from Sacramento, had 40 tackles last year and was entering his junior season. He could return in 2013 if academically eligible, Baldwin said. "Potentially, he could play his senior year," Baldwin added.

The Eagles' preseason depth chart at left end now includes junior David Gaylord (6-foot-4, 220), senior Jerry Ceja (6-foot-3, 220) and junior Jakob Pugsley (6-3, 240).

In addition to Larry, the Eagles will be without offensive tackle Caleb Worthington, a two-year letterman. "The best way I could say it, is that it just wasn't the best fit on both sides," Baldwin said. "So he's looking for a fresh start."

Worthington had been competing for a starting spot at left tackle with redshirt freshman Cassidy Curtis (6-foot-7, 290). Also on the depth chart is redshirt freshman Clay DeBoard (6-foot-6, 290).

Finally, wide receiver Tyler Hart, who was granted a sixth year of eligibility last winter by the NCAA, has "decided to move on," Baldwin said.
