Fever's Whitehead helps community stay fit

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- In 2010 while playing for a former IFL Alaska franchise, Steven Whitehead broke two bones in his back and tore his hip labrum. It was then he found his calling outside of football.

"I was at the worst of the worst of my life at that point and I had a physical therapist and I also had a personal trainer that worked me out and they got me back stronger and faster than I ever was and it just gave me that passion and drive to want to help people the way they helped me," Whitehead said.

Now Whitehead is the owner of Elite Ambitions, a new personal training company he started this year in the Tri-Cities.

"My biggest passion though is to help the high school, middle school and elementary school kids. You know we're out here doing the speed and agility camp to go ahead and teach them some of the techniques and fundamentals," Whitehead said.

Whitehead holds different camps and classes and offers one-on-one personal training.

"He puts a lot of himself into every workout. I also do personal sessions with him and a couple of other gals and he really critiques what you're doing but in a very positive way," Pasco native Jessica Sooter said.

Talking about the future of his company, Whitehead said, "Well hopefully the goal is to have a sports facility. I would love to have a sports facility where we cater to young athletes, older and collegiate athletes, and professional athletes."
