Fever come back to knock off Ice, 52-42 in first round of playoffs

PASCO, Wash. -- Down 31-13 in the second quarter, the Tri-Cities Fever scored 25 unanswered points over the next two quarters, and held on to beat the Colorado Ice 52-42, to advance to the Intense Conference finals.

Tri-Cities was down 14-0 halfway through the first quarter before Dennis Kennedy scored the Fever's first touchdown of the game. In the second quarter, Edward Berry caught a four yard touchdown pass to Houston Lillard to make it a 24-13 Ice Lead. After the Ice made it 31 to 13, the Fever scored two touchdowns in the last minute of the first half, to make it a 31-26 Ice halftime lead.

The Fever defense was big in the second half, as the Ice only scored eleven points in the second half. Kennedy scored two more touchdowns, and Lillard ran it in from four yards with under a minute two minutes to play. That score made it 52-42.

Kennedy finished the night with 44 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Four different Fever receivers caught touchdown passes.

The Fever beat the Ice for the third time this season. They await the winner of the Wichita Allen game on Monday night.
