There will be no more double-byes for Gonzaga at the West Coast Conference tournament in March. The Conference is switching formats for the upcoming season.

Andy Katz first reported the change Friday morning on ESPN.com.

Rather than let the top teams sit out the first two rounds of the conference tournament, the league is switching to a traditional 10-team tournament. The No. 10 will play the No. 7, and the No. 8 will play the No. 9 on the first day. The second day will be the quarterfinals.

Katz said commissioner Jamie Zaninovich feels the conference can now get multiple bids to the NCAA Tournament without "having to overprotect the favorites".

The tournament will continue to be held at The Orleans in Las Vegas for at least one more year. But Zaninovich said the conference is looking at other venues around the West.
