KENNEWICK, WA - Tri-City Americans' Governor/General Manager Bob Tory announced today that the team has signed 15-year-old forward Braden Purtill to a standard WHL Player's Contract. Purtill was the club's second overall pick, going in the third round (46th overall) in this year's WHL Bantam draft on May 3rd in Calgary, AB.

The 5'11, 175 pound native of Winnipeg, MB starred last season for the Bantam 1 Winnipeg Sharks. In 48 games he tallied 33 goals, 54 points while collecting 58 penalty minutes.

"Braden is a highly skilled forward with very good speed and acceleration," said Tory. "He follows a long list of Winnipeg players who excelled in our program."

"He has a good shot and nose for the net," continued Tory. "We are looking forward to his participation in our rookie camp and main camp and will be given the option to participate in pre-season action with our club."
