He may not be the best tackle in the NFL. But Michael Roos is close.

Clifton Brown, writing for Sporting News, put the former Eastern Eagle and current Tennessee Titan at No. 3 on his list of top tackles in football.

Writes Brown:

"An underrated player on a team that flies under the radar, Roos was instrumental in helping Matt Hasselbeck adjust quickly and play well during his first season as the Titans' quarterback. With running back Chris Johnson having a down year in 2011, Roos will be determined to help Johnson regain top form."

For the record, he said the Browns' Joe Thomas was tops, followed by the Texans' Duane Brown.

By the way, Roos is in the Spokane area this week for the annual Fish & Chip fundraiser. A mere $1,600 gets participants a round of golf at Circling Raven and a spot on a boat for the bass fishing tournament on Lake Coeur d'Alene. Proceeds from the event fund the Michael Roos Foundation.
