Tommy Lasorda is most widely known for his years as manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers
Longtime Los Angeles Dodgers manager – and former Spokane Indians skipper – Tommy Lasorda has been hospitalized after having what the team called a "mild" heart attack.
Lasorda, 84, was in a New York hospital, the Associated Press reported Tuesday. He was in town to represent the Dodgers at the Major League Baseball draft.
TMZ reported the plan was for Lasorda to return home on Wednesday.
Lasorda took over for the Indians in 1969 and led the team to a Pacific Coast League title in 1970 when Spokane was a AAA team.
