Believe it. Summer is upon us, which means the Spokane Indians are close to opening up the short season in a matter of weeks.
The Indians start play June 15 against The Vancouver Canadians at Avista Stadium – a game seen live on SWX. With so little time before the start of the season, the team said Tuesday they would begin selling single game tickets June 1.
With so little time before opening day, every day is a busy day at the ballpark. Work is ongoing to re-pave the concourse outside the stadium. Work on the restrooms and concessions buildings will happen later. And then there are all the promotional events to plan!
"This time of year for us, we're making these kinds of improvements while the weather is good, but it's also a really important time for our ticket sales," said team vice president Otto Klein. "And then every day leading up to opening day we're going to have a series of different events. Some are held here at the stadium, and some are around town that will get the excited for opening day."
