University of Idaho sophomore center Mike Marboe is one of 47 players on the 2012 Rimington Award Watch List. The Rimington Award is given annually to the center considered college football's best.
Marboe (Wenatchee, Wash.) started all 12 games during his redshirt freshman season in 2011 and was a leader on the offense during 2012 spring drills. He showed his consistency with his ability to work with younger players around him as well as two quarterbacks during spring 2012.
"Mike Marboe is a very worthy young man," coach Robb Akey said. "I expect him to be a tremendous leader for us this season.
"I'm excited to see him recognized as a candidate for such a prestigious award."
The Vandals open the 2012 season at home on Aug. 30 vs. Eastern Washington University. Kickoff for the Thursday night game is 6 (PDT).
