BURBANK, Wash.—Just a day after a new roundabout opens, it closes down for a few hours.
A semi truck trailer rolled around 8am Thursday morning just off Highway 12 in Burbank. State troopers say the cause was not speed or the design of the roundabout, but a U-Bolt may have broken off the trailer.
The Overpass Project on Highway 12 opened Wednesday in hopes of increasing driver safety. Four people were killed along the corridor in the past five years.
State Patrol say if you're driving next to a truck in a roundabout don't get too close, allow the driver to take a second lane, and drive slowly.
