SPOKANE, Wash. – Three interceptions by Terrance Sanders along with five touchdown grabs by Adron Tennell helped propel the Shock to a 65-47 win over the Philadelphia Soul Friday night.

Spokane drove down the field on the opening drive and Kyle Rowley hit Tennell for a 13-yard touchdown.

On the ensuing drive, Sanders picked off Soul Quarterback Dan Randabaugh on the first play and returned it 32 yards to the Philadelphia 3. An illegal block penalty moved the ball to the PHI 12. A holding penalty moved the ball back to the 22 and following an incomplete pass, Rowley connected with Tennell for a touchdown again.

Sanders picked off another pass on the Soul's next drive, this one denying a touchdown as the pass was thrown into the corner of the end zone. Once again the offense capitalized off the turnover on a Rowley to Tennell touchdown pass, this one a three-yarder to put Spokane up 21-0 at the end of the first quarter.

The Soul got on the board on the next drive on a Tiger Jones nine-yard touchdown grab from Randabaugh.

Sanders took the ensuing kickoff 36 yards to the Philadelphia 22. After two incompletions, Rowley hit Brandon Thompkins for a 15-yard pass to the seven-yard line and was roughed on the play, moving the ball half the distance to the goal. Another penalty by the Soul, this one a pass interference, moved the ball to the two yard line. Thompkins ran it in for a score on the next play.

Philadelphia responded with an 18-yard touchdown run by Derrick Ross to make the score 28-14.

On the next drive Spokane used a mix of penalties on the Soul along with three grabs of over 10 yards by Tennell, the third one being 14 yards for a touchdown. The Shock caught the Soul off guard and recovered a surprise onside kick. Kenny Spencer hit a field goal to end the half with Spokane up 37-14.

Sanders got back to work once again on the opening Philadelphia drive, intercepting his third pass of the game and taking it to the house for a 42-yard touchdown.

The Soul's struggles continued as they fumbled the ensuing kickoff and it was recovered by Charles Ealy. Philadelphia recovered quickly however with Keon Perry intercepting Rowley on the first play. The Soul took the ball down the field and after a 33-yard pass to Emery Sammons, Randabaugh hit Jones for an eight-yard touchdown.

Tennell scored yet another touchdown on the ensuing drive for the Shock, this one a four-yard reception.

Philadelphia's next drive included four catches by Sammons, the fourth being a score on a two-yard reception. They recovered the onside kick and scored again in two plays as Jones caught a 27-yard touchdown but the extra point was missed. Another recovered onside kick gave the Soul the ball at the Spokane 12, which after a penalty Philadelphia took into the end zone a play later on a 24-yard score by Jones. They attempted a two-point conversion, but failed making it a ten point game 51-41.

The Shock managed to recover the ensuing onside kick and answered back with a 4-yard touchdown run by Thompkins to make the score 58-41.

Philadelphia took the ball down to the three yard-line, but Jones fumbled the ball and Paul Stephens scooped it up and returned it 29 yards to the PHI 14. Rowley tucked it in for a one-yard rushing touchdown to put the Shock ahead 65-41.

The Soul salvaged a touchdown on a Jeff Hughley 26-yard catch with 52 seconds to play but missed the two-point conversion.

Spokane recovered the onside kick and were a couple inches from running it in again as Rowley was stopped short of the end zone on fourth down. The Soul ran out the clock on the next play to give the Shock the win 65-47.

Rowley totaled up 227 passing yards with five touchdowns and one interception along with a rushing touchdown as well. Tennell found the end zone five times as he caught the ball 11 times for 116 yards. Thompkins added eight catches for 88 yards as well as two rushing touchdowns. Sanders gave an encore to his Defensive Player of the week award from last week with another impressive performance picking off Randabaugh three times and running the third one back for a 42-yard score.

Randabaugh threw for 360 yards with six touchdowns, but his three interceptions helped Spokane increase the score margin. Jones had 12 grabs for 164 yards and four touchdowns. Sammons had 10 receptions for 120 yards and one touchdown.

Philadelphia (7-3) was one of the top-ranked teams going into the game.

The Shock (5-4), who have now won four of their last five games, will head to Iowa next week to face the Barnstormers on May 25th at 5:05 p.m.
