UPDATE: Coeur d'Alene Wins to Set 3rd Place Matchup With Lewiston

Coeur d'Alene lost 10-2 on Thursday to fall into the consolation bracket. Coeur d'Alene lost 10-2 on Thursday to fall into the consolation bracket.


Coeur d'Alene beat Idaho Falls 7-6 Friday afternoon in Boise., setting up a third-place game against IEL rival Lewiston.

The Vikings and Bengals will play Saturday morning at 10 a.m.

The winners bracket in the 5A tournament is comprised of Eagle vs. Timberline and Rockey Mountain vs. Mountainview.

Lewiston beat Highland, from Pocatello, 6-5 on Friday in the 5A losers bracket. The Bengals will face the winner between Coeur d'Alene and Idaho Falls for third place.

Also on Friday morning, Lakeland lost 8-5 to Bonneville in a loser-out game in the 4A bracket.

In the 3A tournament, St. Maries plays Fruitland at 7 p.m. in Ontario, Ore., with the winner advancing to play either Snake River or Kimberly in the title game.

The Coeur d'Alene Vikings fell hard Thursday, losing 10-2 to Mountain View in the state 5A baseball tournament in Boise.

Mikey Schmidt suffered his first loss of the season for the Vikings, with five earned runs in five innings.

Coeur d'Alene will now play out of the consolation bracket. They will face Idaho Falls Friday at 1p.m. In a loser-out game. 

The other 5A representative from the Inland Empire League, Lewiston, also lost on Thursday. The Bengals lost 10-3 to Timberline. Lewiston plays Highland on Friday in a loser-out contest.
