SPOKANE, Wash. -

It wasn't a record, but it was a sight to be seen nonetheless. More than 53,000 crammed the streets of Spokane on Sunday for the 36th Bloomsday Run.

Race officials released the official numbers Monday morning.

Here is a look at Bloomsday by the numbers:

 

  • 53,000+: The number of runners and walkers who signed up for this year's event. The numbers is slightly lower than last year's figure (56,000)
  • 42: Temperature at the start time – slightly higher than last year's temperature (38)
  • 38:26: Winning time of the Women's Elite champion, Mamitu Daska
  • 34:29: Winning time of the Men's Elite Champions, Allan Kiprono
  • :18: Time that separated the Men's Elite Champion from the second place finisher, Robert Letting
  • 29:58: Winning time of men's Wheelchair winner, Scott Parson
  • 6: Number of consecutive times Amanda McGrory has won the women's Wheelchair division
  • $7,000: Amount won by Elite winners, Mamitu Daska and Allan Kiprono
  • 47,882: Number of finishers of the 36th Bloomsday Run. That means, for whatever reason, more than 5,000 didn't finish the race.
Next year's Lilac Bloomsday Run, the 37th, will be on Sunday, May 5th, 2013.
