SPOKANE, Wash. -
Wait out the gloom and doom just a little longer. The weather for Bloomsday on Sunday looks like it will be a winner.
Six days away from the 36th annual run, KHQ/SWX meteorologist Dave Law said Tuesday it will be about 36 degrees around start time. It will be in the low 50s around 11 a.m. when most runners and walkers finish near Riverfront Park.
Last year, it was 38 at start time and 52 at the finish.
Last year, like this year, the days leading up to Bloomsday were cool and wet. In fact, April 2011 was one of the coolest and wettest on record. And this year, like last year, the clouds are expected to clear out by Sunday morning, leaving behind some cool but dry weather with a slight breeze.
Be sure to check KHQ and SWX often during the week for the updated forecast. And Happy Bloomsday!
