Tri-Cities Fever prepare for rematch with New Mexico Stars

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The Tri-Cities Fever look to go 8-0. Friday they host the New Mexico Stars. It is their second match-up with New Mexico this month. Last time the Fever blew an 18 point lead, but won the game 65-62. Michael Taylor kicked a 34-yard field goal as time expired.

The Fever say playing this one at home will help a lot. "Well I think always playing on the road is a hard thing and a great challenge, but I think we prepared better this time. We're ready and have them at home, which is a big advantage for us," Fever defensive back Lionell Singleton said.

"Being at home, I think, will help, having our crowd behind us. We were a long way from home and their crowd got more energized as they came closer and closer. We hope that if we are fortunate enough to get a lead that we have a sense of urgency. Understand that last time we didn't keep the lead. Maybe learn from that and use it as a building block," Fever head coach Adam Shackleford added.
